Victoria Racing Club appoints Nikki Clarkson to Chief Marketing Officer

Victoria Racing Club (VRC) Chief Executive Officer Kylie Rogers today announced the

appointment of Nikki Clarkson to the position of Chief Marketing Officer.

Ms Clarkson joins the VRC with more than 25 years’ experience in brand management, digital

strategy, content creation and media commercialisation, having most recently held the role of

Chief Marketing Officer at Southern Cross Austereo.

Ms Clarkson will lead the VRC’s marketing, communications, content, digital, production and

 

social media function to drive brand growth and innovation across all Flemington assets year-

round, headlined by the showpiece event, the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

 

Ms Rogers said Ms Clarkson brings a wealth of experience and leading insights which will help

the VRC achieve its strategic priorities.

“We are thrilled to appoint Nikki to the role of Chief Marketing Officer. Nikki has extensive

experience in understanding the wants and needs of customers, the power of media and content

and the importance of storytelling.

“Nikki shares our enthusiasm for the future of Flemington Place and recognises the huge

opportunities that lie ahead for the VRC. She will be an asset for our club, VRC partners and the

wider racing industry,” Ms Rogers said.

Ms Clarkson said she was looking forward to joining the VRC.

“I am thrilled and proud to be joining one of the world’s greatest sporting and entertainment

institutions, and look forward to working with Kylie, the board and the wider VRC team to

contribute to an exciting future for the club and the Flemington Place precinct.”

Ms Clarkson joins the VRC’s Leigh Jordon as part of the new C-Suite Executive Team. Mr Jordon

was appointed Chief Racing Officer in December and will continue to spearhead the VRC’s racing

program and Flemington racing and training facilities.

Ms Clarkson will officially commence with the club on Monday 17 March. Further appointments to

the C-Suite Executive team will be announced shortly.
